Hi we're new here and are looking at renting then buying in a cheaper but still nice outer suburb in Brisbane. What we want is a place with lots of forest or trees and lots of hills so we can get a place with a view. Ideally somewhere not more than 1/2 an hours drive from Ipswich and/or the city because thats where we work. I love older queenslanders or wooden houses and I hate most of the new suburban mass produced developments. Any one have any ideas?

Try Upper Mount Gravatt, It's next to the Toohey State Forest so plenty of trees, also got quite a few large parks nearby.  It's not too far from the city and there is a few westfield shopping centres within a short driving distance.  Or you could try the suburbs near that, like Holland Park West or Greenslopes which i think are slightly closer to the city.
