Loved the Bread...but...

Hmmm...wanting to take a break from the day to day with a dinner for to on a Tuesday we headed to Onyx. Well the service was lovely - just the right amount of attention. Ordering a glass of wine and a beer from the extensive drinks list we started with the ciabatta with three dips - the bread was lovely as were two of the three dips. Then our trio of tapas arrived with beer battered fries. Compared to the tapas, the chips were excellent.

We were extremely disappointed with the food. We had duck pancakes, Indian lamb patties and fried chicken tenderloins. The duck pancakes were tasteless, the lamb patties watery (had they been frozen?) and the chicken dry with a sauce that can only be described as disgusting (it tasted and looked like rancid oil drained from the pan).

It might be a great place for drinks after work but we certainly won't be coming back to eat. Sorry guys but Gordon Ramsay would have had a field day here!
