In summer in brisbane they hold outdoor movie nights at New Farm Park.  It's a lovely night out, and you can take your kids, have a picnic for dinner and enjoy the fresh air. I've been a couple of times now with my family. The price is reasonable and they show some pretty good movies (even some of the latest movies!). The only problem is parking really...and of course the weather. I make sure i take umbrellas and insect repellant just in case  Smiley

Thanks for the suggestion CarlyC!
I went last night to see the Darjeeling Express Ltd  - what a great movie and a great atmosphere. Tickets were only $12 but if you wanted to sit on a bean bag, that was an extra $5 each. There's no alcohol allowed but they do serve alchohl at the bar as well as food. My hubby and I took some cheese and crackers, a picnic rug which was fine. Next time we'll take pillows i think for comfort, and insect repellant. We
ll definitely be going again! Cheesy

There are a couple of other venues for outdoor cinema in Brisbane. http://www.brisbaneopenair.com.au/ starts tonight and runs till 20th December. It's at Southbank which should be a great venue.

The City council also runs a series of Movies In the Park with venues at various loactions around Brisbane, sorry I don't have a web address for that.

It's a great way to take advantage of this Brisbane weather and with the drought there's less chance you will get rained out.  Grin Gotta be some benefits I suppose.
