A friend recently told me about this cool Jazz club on Exhibition Street in the city called Jazzworx...not knowing much about the Jazz scene in Brisbane I decided to check it out last Friday. How cool!  I felt like I was a discoverer of a lost world of 'in' club scenes known only to a chosen few. The club is in Bowen Hills at 4 Exhibition Street. It's set up theatre style with a BYO bar (you can take your own alcohol and they'll give you a glass/corkscreew for a small corkage fee) so the focus is entirely on the music. It's nothing flash in terms of decor - very low key and, well, cool.  I highly recommend this club for jazz and music enthusiasts...it's nice to see we're maintaining a certain level of culture in Brisbane for those that are young and young at heart  Wink

I picked up some brochures on my way out and discovered that Jazzworx is also a training institute for music and Jazz studies. I  guess that's why I hadn't heard of the place before. Anyway, they're web address is http://jazz.qld.edu.au/
