Hello from across the ditch! My husband and I are looking at making a move to Brisbane around March 2009 and we hear it isn't easy to find a rental property if you have a dog so we are placing our "wanted advert" early in hoping someone in Brisbane will come to our aide!
We are in our mid 40's and we own our own business which we will eventually get up and running in Brissie but at first while we settle in we will do everyday hard yacker work (yet to find)

2 bedrooms would suffice but three maybe better. We have a treasured dog a "Shar Pei" better behaved and better mannered than most humans. If you are familiar with the breed you will already know they are amazing creatures. My dog is an inside dog, not many Shar Pei (roly dogs) live or sleep outdoors. It is my intention to breed Shar Pei and I may well bring a breeding dog with us, making it two dogs. (We will need a fenced secured yard)... I will not be breeding for a couple of years until we are well and truly set up and established in Brisbane and when we purchase our own purposely built home semi/rural.
We will only have children to stay at school holiday time and they are 10 and 12 years old, we will be flying them from NZ to come stay. My husband smokes, I do not, he smokes outside, never inside around me or the dog! I do get some say when I wear my pinny! ha ha ...
We will look after your home, and pay the rent, you will never have to worry about "unreliable" tenants with us. We are open, honest people and like the same in return. We would like a nice, tidy, safe area to live in as close in as possible and semi rural would be perfect! We could even long term house sit if that was an option for you. Perhaps a 6 - 12 month rental term at the onset, renewable maybe? We can discuss this when we correspond ...
Our intention is to sell up everything here and arrive with our suitcases and dog/s, it will be an exciting time with new challenges and new beginnings and we look forward to the lifestyle and climate change! like most kiwis (lol)
